Membership Types and Benefits

For 113 years, FASEB has been a federation of societies and a powerful coalition of voices aligned around advancing our shared scientific mission. We welcome and invite new societies to join us and support our efforts to actively advocate on Capitol Hill, provide thoughtful community-wide feedback valued by federal agencies, educate and inform members of your society on issues ranging from how to advocate to biological workforce development needs, and engage with legislators and other coalitions to advance the biological and biomedical sciences.

Today, FASEB is pleased to offer four choices for societies to participate in and support the federation: three options for Full membership (silver, gold, and platinum) and, new, a cost-effective Affiliate membership. Pricing varies with society’s revenue. To learn more, email membersupport@faseb.org

Full membership—enables societies to be actively involved in steering the Federation and creating new policy responses, advocacy tactics, and critical content supporting the biological and biomedical research community. Key highlights:

  • Voting representation on the FASEB Board of Directors, the FASEB Science Policy Committee, the FASEB Advocacy Committee (effective July 2026), and the FASEB Biological Workforce Development and Engagement Committee; can also include representation on FASEB’s other topical committees where selected (e.g., Finance, Membership, Meetings, Publications).
  • For society Executive Directors, participation in the exclusive Executive Officers Advisory Council, where you receive first access to inside information related to both society management and advocacy and policy developments.
  • Input on FASEB's federal agency funding recommendations.
  • Registration, training, pre-arranged legislator meetings, and travel support for two representatives to FASEB’s Annual Capitol Hill Day (spring) and for one representative to FASEB’s Science Policy Day (fall).
  • Your society staff may also participate in FASEB-sponsored Public Affairs Meeting to network and leverage society staff expertise.
  • Choose Full (gold) for additional access to a special Public Affairs meeting to gain additional insights, or Full (platinum) for additional customized services.
  • Access to the federation’s curated proprietary information around appropriations funding, science policy, pending legislation, factsheets, reports, and e-action alerts directed to your member’s appropriate legislator.

New in 2026

Affiliate membership—enables societies to receive and access curated proprietary information developed by FASEB and deploy on behalf of their societies; does not include participation in any governance boards, committees, councils, meetings, or groups. Key highlights:

  • Analysis of appropriations funding.
  • Insights into science policy and pending legislation.
  • Access to factsheets (state and district level), reports, and action alerts.
  • Society receives two free registrations, training, and pre-arranged legislator meetings at FASEB’s Capitol Hill Day (attendee or society pays travel costs).
