Every comment strengthens the case for protecting scientific research.

The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) have proposed a new rule with significant changes that could significantly disrupt the research ecosystem and have serious negative consequences for scientific discovery, collaboration, and innovation. The stakes could not be higher.

We need YOU to submit comments that discuss the personal impact this would have on you as a scholarly society or a scientist. Comments on the proposed rule are open until July 13, 2026, at 11:59 PM EST, and your voice matters.

OMB is required to review and respond to every substantive public comment submitted. That means comments from scholarly societies, researchers, and other members of the scientific community can make a real impact. Personal stories and real-world examples help demonstrate how this rule could affect research, funding, scientific collaboration, and the broader scientific enterprise.
