The Molecular Metabolism Conference: From Cell Biology to Systems Physiology
2027 FASEB Science Research Conference
August 9-11, 2027
The Galt House Hotel, Louisville, KY
Co-located with Nutrient Sensing and Signaling in Metabolism
Conference Summary
Molecular metabolism as a discipline has made an astonishing resurgence, fueled by new data that place altered metabolic processes at the heart of several serious health problems beyond diabetes. These include Alzheimer’s disease and its related dementias, various cancers, cardiovascular diseases, and infections. Notably, the pandemic magnified the growing challenges in understanding how existing metabolic disorders intensify the severity of certain infections. Molecular metabolism that spans from cellular biology to systems physiology is of high interest to the scientific community as it holds great promise in revolutionizing science and medicine. The topics covered in this meeting range from basic structural biology to controlled clinical trials in human patients. This meeting attracts biochemists, cell biologists, physiologists, pharmacologists, and clinical investigators interested in metabolic diseases. The symposium provides a rare opportunity to bring together a divergent group of investigators for a week of intense discussion and discovery.
Attendees will learn about:
- Lipids in health and disease
- Nutrient transport
- Mitochondria as signaling organelles
Program topics include:
- Compartmentalized metabolism
- Targeting metabolic disease
- Organ/tumor/immune metabolic crosstalk
Workshops:
Daily Meet the Experts lunch sessions will allow trainees to have in-depth conversations and network with speakers
Career Development Roundtable Discussions will focus on topics such as industry careers, starting an academic lab, and culturally aware mentorship, allowing for growth and mentorship for all career stages
