Conference Summary
Arginine methylation is a prevalent post-translational modification that functions as an epigenetic regulator of transcription and plays critical roles in DNA damage signaling, cell fate determination, and various aspects of RNA metabolism, including pre-mRNA splicing, translation, and mRNA export. Dysregulation and aberrant expression of enzymes (called PRMTs) responsible for catalyzing arginine methylation are linked to several human diseases. Active research and clinical trials are underway for specific PRMT inhibitors with therapeutic potential for these conditions.

Workshops:
A Meet the Experts session, offering attendees the chance to discuss with experts topics including the connection between arginine methylation and specific diseases and the application of novel technologies.
Three Career Development Workshops will provide guidance to those interested specifically in academia or in industry, as well as addressing the transition from postdoc to principal investigator.
