Mechanisms of Immune Cell Development and Function
2027 FASEB Science Research Conference
August 2-5, 2027
Galt House Hotel, Louisville, KY
Conference Summary
For over 20 years, this conference has explored the mechanisms that control gene expression, differentiation, genome architecture, and function in diverse cell types in the immune system. Specific areas of research include infection, cancer immunotherapy, autoimmunity, inflammatory diseases, and an ever-growing spectrum of pathologies. We focus on the molecular mechanisms underlying immune cell development and function, and their implications for the development of new prevention and treatment strategies. Sessions will further discuss how researchers are leveraging emerging technologies to decipher gene expression and cell function, including single-cell and spatial transcriptomics and proteomics, and high-level systems immunology analyses. The conference will also feature networking, professional development workshops, and research presentations from scientists across the career spectrum.
Attendees will learn about:
- The mechanistic understanding of immune cell development
- Immune responses to infection
- Therapeutic strategies, including vaccine development and cancer immunotherapy
Program topics include:
- Molecular mechanisms maintaining DNA integrity during immune cell development
- Immune responses to high-level systems immunology analyses of the immune response
- Immune disease responses in tissue organization
Workshops
Two Meet the Experts sessions will offer attendees the chance to engage interactively with leading established investigators to discuss topics including mentoring and research.
A Career Development Panel Discussion will allow early-career researchers the opportunity to put questions to speakers from a variety of career paths.
