The study of hematologic malignancies remains at the forefront of cancer research, providing unparalleled models for understanding the fundamental principles of stem-cell biology, clonal evolution, and genetic regulation. Unlike solid tumors, blood cancers have allowed scientists to track the stepwise accumulation of mutations from pre-malignant conditions like Clonal Hematopoiesis of Indeterminate Potential (CHIP) to overt leukemia, offering a transparent window into disease initiation.
This conference will cover both myeloid and lymphoid-based malignancies; the integration of these lineage-specific topics is critical as it highlights shared mechanisms of oncogenesis, such as epigenetic remodeling, super-enhancer dysregulation, and the complex interplay between tumor cells and the immune microenvironment.
This deep mechanistic focus is essential not only for mapping the distinct pathogenesis of B- and T-cell disorders versus myeloid neoplasms but also for understanding the broader physiological impacts of hematologic aging and immune evasion.

Meet the Experts session will be designed to bridge the gap between technical mastery and career development by hosting roundtables on navigating the transition from academia to industry, securing early-career funding from foundations (e.g., LLS, EHA, AACR), and understanding strategies for high-impact publishing.
The two Career Development Workshops will equip graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, and junior faculty with the essential skills and strategy necessary to navigate the transition to independence, with topics including discussing the use of AI and scientific publishing, demystifying the funding landscape for hematologic research and exploring diverse career trajectories beyond traditional academia.
