Conference Summary
Phase separation has emerged as an ubiquitous phenomenon in living systems supporting normal physiology and driving many disease processes. These discoveries have created immense interest among biologists, chemists, physicists, engineers, and computer scientists to develop a rigorous framework to understand biomolecular phase separation as a mechanism for programming cellular signaling, stress regulation, and genome organization across different lengths and timescales. These discoveries have also fueled new directions in drug discovery and are currently pursued by biotech and pharma companies. This conference will enable discussions of both recent cutting-edge discoveries and identification of key challenges as the field moves forward, especially for early-career researchers.

- Machine learning and AI in biology
Workshops:
The Meet the Experts sessions will emphasize academia-industry collaboration, career development advice, and challenges in research funding by bringing together a diverse group of experts including NSF and NIH program officers, group leaders and Chief Scientific Officers (CSOs) from industry, and young and established PIs as panelists.
A moderated Career Development Workshop will address steps and strategies associated with pursuing both academic and industry career opportunities. Topics will include: successfully establishing an independent research program, finding promising research topics, grant application techniques, and exploring career opportunities in industry and government.
