Molecular Diagnostics Core

AMP published a collection of papers in 2025 outlining essential bioinformatics roles, responsibilities and competencies for professionals in clinical molecular diagnostic laboratories. The collection, titled “Clinical Bioinformatician Body of Knowledge: A Report of the Association for Molecular Pathology,” is freely available in The Journal of Molecular Diagnostics. The steering committee for the project has now launched a series of broadcasts about their findings and conclusions reported in the collection.

The broadcast will focus on the paper "Molecular Diagnostics Core," which provides an overview of essential knowledge in molecular biology, genetics, genomics, laboratory practices, sequencing technologies, databases and clinical applications for bioinformaticians to optimally apply their bioinformatics skills in clinical molecular diagnostics laboratories.
