FASEB Webinar: Crafting Your Postdoc Path
By: Nabila RiazThursday, April 24, 2025
In March, FASEB launched a webinar series to raise awareness about the rapidly evolving biomedical research workforce. The series focuses on aligning doctoral and postdoctoral training with a broad range of professional opportunities both within and beyond academia, aiming to strengthen the U.S. scientific enterprise by maximizing talent and expanding career pathways.
The second webinar in the series, “Crafting Your Postdoc Path: Why Pursue One & How to Design It,” is scheduled for April 29, 12–1 pm ET. It will feature Emily Ackerman, PhD, from Harvard Medical School, and Maryam Majeed, PhD, from Allen Institute for Brain Science, who will share their experiences as postdoctoral scholars in academia and industry, respectively. They will discuss the unique opportunities and challenges of each path. Since choosing between an academic and industry postdoc can significantly shape a researcher’s career trajectory, this webinar aims to provide attendees with the insights and tools to move forward—or at least begin shaping their own path.
Registration for the second webinar is available here.
Upcoming webinars in the series include “Take Charge of Your Research Training: Supporting Career Development Using IDPs” on June 12.
