FASEB Submits Comments on NIH FY 2027-2031 Strategic Plan

FASEB submitted comments in response to the Request for Information (RFI) on the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Wide Strategic Plan for Fiscal Years 2027-2031. In its comments, FASEB responded to the request for input on all 3 areas of the proposed strategic plan and noted the importance of balancing the NIH portfolio between foundational research and clinical applications and agreed with the proposed prioritization of research capacity building. The federation also urged NIH to ensure that all public communications and policy decisions regarding research models - including animal research - reflect the current state of the science and are free from ideological or political influence.
