FASEB Publications: Data

FASEB Publications is committed to data sharing as part of a broader commitment to promoting transparency, reproducibility, and accessibility in scientific research. Data sharing is a fundamental component of open science, enabling researchers to validate findings, build upon existing work, and drive new discoveries. This commitment to data availability enhances collaboration, increases citation opportunities, and strengthens the foundation of scientific knowledge for the global research community.

Data and Material Sharing, Accessibility, and Citation Policy

FASEB Publications requires that all data, software, and other research objects supporting the findings reported will be made available in the article, the supporting information, and/or archived in an appropriate public permanent repository cited and linked to from the article. All data must be made available upon first submission for purposes of peer review. For more information on this policy, visit the author guidelines for: The FASEB Journal or FASEB BioAdvances

Data Availability Statement

A Data Availability Statement is required for publication in FASEB Publications. In keeping with FASEB’s commitment to transparency and accessibility, both The FASEB Journal and FASEB BioAdvances require authors to provide these statements. This statement contains all the relevant information about your data, software, and any other research objects, and provides information to readers on how they may access these items. Always include a brief description (e.g., what type of data they are), the name of the repository or site where the dataset is stored, any versioning information, and a DOI or persistent identifier link.

Example Data Availability Statements

  • Stored in repository. The data that support the findings of this study are openly available in [repository name e.g., "figshare"] at http://doi.org/[doi or URL], reference number [reference number].
  • If derived from public domain information. These data were derived from the following resources at [URL, reference number].
  • If embargoed due to commercialization. The data that support the findings will be available in [repository name] at [URL/DOI link] following an embargo from the date of publication to allow for commercialization of research findings.
  • Privacy/ethical restrictions. The data that support the findings of this study are available on request from the corresponding author. The data are not publicly available due to privacy or ethical restrictions.
  • Included in article. The data that support the findings of this study are available in the Materials and Methods, Results. and/or Supplemental Material of this article.
  • No new data. Data sharing not applicable to this article as no datasets were generated or analyzed during the current study.

FASEB Publications is Integrated with Dryad

FASEB has partnered with Dryad, an open data publishing platform, to provide authors with a seamless way to share their research data.

Through this integration, authors submitting to The FASEB Journal and FASEB BioAdvances can securely upload their data to Dryad during the peer review process. Dryad assigns a persistent identifier to each dataset, ensuring it’s curated and stored for long-term accessibility. Upon publication of the research article, the corresponding datasets become openly available on Dryad for researchers worldwide to access and reuse without restriction.

This partnership enhances data transparency, reproducibility, and citation, providing authors with a free, integrated tool to support high-quality data sharing. Learn more about how Dryad helps ensure the integrity and accessibility of research data
