Conference Summary
Ferroptosis is a non-apoptotic cell death mechanism implicated in many degenerative conditions and is most prominently connected with degenerative diseases and cancer. This process has important thematic connections to researchers interested in lipid metabolism, iron biology, oxidative stress, and other areas. The recognition of ferroptosis as a new form of regulated cell death has catalyzed rapid growth in the field, with researchers working to understand ferroptosis at all levels—from molecular mechanisms and cell biology to human disease and therapeutics. 

This conference will highlight potential therapeutic interventions and targets while bringing together investigators to discuss the latest discoveries and emerging directions in ferroptosis research. In the past two years, several biotechnology startups have been founded on ferroptosis, and this area is also attracting interest from established big pharma companies interested in these topics and current directions. 

Attendees will learn about:

· Molecular and cell biological mechanisms of ferroptosis

. Crosstalk between iron biology, lipid metabolism, oxidative stress, and ferroptosis

. Emerging tools and technologies to study ferroptosis

Program topics include:

· The roles of ferroptosis in disease and current therapeutic approaches to target ferroptosis

. Current therapeutic approaches to target ferroptosis 

· Chemical biology reagents and tools used to study this process
