As part of its activities recognizing 2023 as the Year of Open Science, the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) recently announced a series of virtual listening sessions to engage early-career researchers in discussions of the opportunities and challenges to advancing open science in the United States. The conversations will also provide venues for early-career researchers to suggest possible actions that could be taken by the federal government to support open science.

Listening sessions will cover topics exploring early-career researchers’ perspectives on possibilities for lowering barriers to entry (May 31), ensuring equitable participation and access at emerging research institutions (June 5), opportunities and challenges related to career progression and trajectory (June 6), and utilization of open science to further training and capacity building (June 12). Registration is required for all sessions.
