National Institutes of Health (NIH) Advisory Committee to the Director Working Group on Re-envisioning NIH-Supported Postdoctoral Training is holding virtual listening sessions in March to gather extramural community input: Friday, March 10, 1:30–2:30 pm ET: international trainee concerns; Friday, March 17, 12:30–1:30 pm ET: compensation and benefits (including childcare and dependent care); and Monday, March 20, 1:30–2:30 pm ET: job security, career prospects, and quality of life. A previous session was held on March 8 on the role, duration, structure, and value of the academic postdoc, including underrepresented populations. Registration is free but required. Interested persons can attend as many listening sessions as they would like.

Information gathered from these listening sessions will support the recently announced Request for Information (RFI) on re-envisioning U.S. postdoctoral research training and career progression within the biomedical research enterprise. Notably, the listening session themes differ from the RFI topics. Reponses to the RFI are due via the online submission website by April 14.
