FASEB Launches 2023 DataWorks! Prize

On May 23, FASEB announced the launch of the second annual DataWorks! Prize, which offers up to $500,000 in cash prizes. 

DataWorks! Prize will recognize and reward exceptional data practices in biological and biomedical research labs during the active phase of research, which enable robust data sharing and reuse, and create a library of best practice methods that can be used by the broader research community.   

The prize is a joint initiative of FASEB and NIH Office of Data Science Strategy to support data sharing and reuse in the biological and biomedical community.  

Submissions will be accepted June 1–July 24, with award decisions announced in winter 2023.  Dataworks! Prize is open to anyone aged 18 or older. Individual participants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. International researchers can participate on a team with a U.S. team lead.
