FASEB is transforming the culture within biological and biomedical sciences through targeted recruitment initiatives, innovative programming, and professional development opportunities for our scientific workforces from historically excluded communities. That is why FASEB is excited to announce the second round of applications for Career Advancement and Research Excellence Support (CARES) and Leadership Excellence and Appreciation of Differences (LEAD)! Applications will be accepted through November 3.

CARES provides financial support to alleviate financial burdens associated with caregiving, enabling FASEB society members to continue their scientific training, professional development, and career progression. Recipients will be awarded $5,000 based on their need.

LEAD is an innovative mentoring program that pairs senior-level professionals with junior-level mentors to gain different perspectives of individual, group, and cultural views within the workplace and scientific research communities. To increase the influence of this culture shifting program, LEAD is now open to professionals at non-FASEB member societies. Participants will have the opportunity to exchange personal views and workplace perspectives in a safe-to-say environment.

With each program, we are building a more diverse scientific workforce that is truly representative of our diverse nation. Any questions may be directed to diversity@faseb.org.
