FASEB Submits Comments on NSF Survey of Graduate Students and Postdoctorates

On May 6, FASEB responded to the Request for Comments on the National Science Foundation’s (NSF’s) Survey of Graduate Students and Postdoctorates in Science and Engineering. In its comments, FASEB stated the importance and value of data collected--both to the NSF’s mission and commitment to broadening participation, and to understanding the contemporary scientific workforce. Additionally, FASEB pointed to several recent reports that call for enhanced data collection with attention to intersectionality. Finally, FASEB suggested that NSF evaluate the survey infrastructure and user interface for user friendliness, to promote usability and reduce administrative burden
