FASEB Launches NSF State Factsheet Series

Tuesday, July 23, 2019
FASEB issued a new set of factsheets emphasizing the crucial impact of National Science Foundation (NSF) funding in all 50 states, Washington, DC, and Puerto Rico. With about 12,000 new awards annually, NSF is the primary federal funding source for non-medical basic research.

The new factsheets give a snapshot of NSF funding by state and feature data on how NSF grants add value to local communities, train the next generation of scientists, and boost the economy through new business creation.

The factsheets are part of FASEB’s NSF Matters campaign to raise awareness of NSF among policymakers and advocate for the agency’s budget and programs. The factsheets are available on the FASEB website through a user-friendly map interface or at www.faseb.org/fundingfacts.
