The Mechanism of Plant Development Conference

July 24–29, 2022
Saxtons River, VT
#MPDSRC22

Summary

July 24-29, 2022

This FASEB Science Research Conference (SRC) is focused on exploring the mechanisms of plant development, including plant morphogenesis, cell biology, embryogenesis, juvenile-adult and vegetative-reproductive phase transitions, and flowering.

The conference will bring together the international plant development community, comprising PIs, postdocs, and graduate students.

Important Dates

Abstract Deadline: June 13, 2022
Early Registration Deadline: June 23, 2022
Cancellation Deadline: July 3, 2022
Registration Closing Deadline: July 20, 2022

Program

The meeting’s main themes are: 1) The role of hormones and mechanical signals in organizing the plant body plan; 2) Molecular mechanisms that lead to asymmetry at the cell and organ level; 3) Pathways that mediate cellular specialization.

Conference sessions will present the latest research and foster discussion on:
  • Tissue Patterning
  • Developmental Plasticity
  • Cellular Response to Environment
  • Mechanisms in Cell Polarity
  • Cellular Specialization
  • Establishing and Elaborating Body Plan
  • Signaling and Crosstalk
  • Mediating Indeterminate Growth
  • Cell-Cell Communication
The conference covers six sessions, 12 abstract presentations, two keynote sessions, and three topic session. Poster presenters will give two-minute video presentations at the end of the conference. Additionally, a “Meet the Experts” session will include a series of breakout rooms, allowing PIs to meet with postdocs, graduate students, and young faculty to offer advice about starting a lab, securing funding, broader outreach, and balancing research and teaching.
