Southern Regional Meeting


February 10-12, 2022

The Southern Regional Meetings promote excellence in both clinical and basic investigation. The three-day meeting will kick off on Thursday morning with the Cardiovascular Club meeting with state-of-the-art lectures, and mentored oral sessions, and continue with afternoon workshops on Manuscript Preparation and Peer-Reviewed Publication, Moving Your Clinical Case Presentation into a Published Manuscript, Career Advancement for Clinician Educator: Evaluation for Promotion, and the concurrent sessions including Case Reports in Cardiovascular Medicine, and Pediatric and Adult Medicine Clinical Case Symposia. All meeting attendees are welcome to attend any of the workshops/symposiums. The Joint Plenary Poster Session will be held on Thursday from 4:306:30 pm. Following will be specialty club dinners.
Friday morning will kick-off with Chairs’ Residents’ Forum Breakfast, The Physical ExamA Lost Art? by Sumanth Prabhu, and Meet the Experts for Breakfast: Navigating the Academic Medicine Career Ladder 101. Following these breakfast sessions will be the SSCI/SAFMR, SSPR Plenary Sessions as well as the APA Sponsored Workshops, titled “Teaching Trauma Informed Care,” “Fostering Collaborative Supporting Interdisciplinary Learners in an Integrated Primary Care Clinic,” and "Disseminate Scholarship of Teaching: How to Publish a Teaching Tool or Curriculum" will be followed by a workshop on career advancement for clinician educators. 

Saturday’s activities will include a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Symposium, the Joint Plenary Session titled “Metabolic Syndrome – Across the Lifespan.” Following these programs, a Jazz Lunch will be held. In the afternoon, there will be additional concurrent subspecialty scientific sessions and state-of-the-art presentations.
