Conference Policies & Code of Conduct
For the safety and enjoyment of all, FASEB has a Code of Conduct and Conference Policies that apply to all conference participants. All policies are adopted in consideration of and in the best interest of conference participants, conference organizers, and staff. By registering for the conference, all participants agree to abide by these policies.
FASEB Conferences Diversity Statement
FASEB is committed to sustaining diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion in the biological and biomedical sciences. Our goal is to create and support a conference environment that is welcoming and safe for all. We believe that the inclusion of diverse participants, including attendees and speakers, is critical to the scientific and educational integrity of conferences. Organizers are expected to design programs that reflect this commitment. As part of FASEB’s ongoing efforts to reach its diversity goals, conference participants are asked to share diversity information. Any data collected from individuals is treated confidentially and used in aggregate format for internal and external review only.
Environmental Sustainability Statement
Safeguarding the wellbeing of the Earth goes to the heart of FASEB’s mission to advance the work of biological and biomedical researchers and informs the work of our member societies and their members.
FASEB’s Science Research Conferences (SRCs) are committed to improving energy and waste efficiency in all aspects of our operations, with a particular pledge to decrease our conferences’ carbon footprints and to become more environmentally sustainable.
We understand that our activities may have unintended negative effects on the environment, and we’re always seeking ways to diminish them. We do this by promoting awareness of our environmental impact, taking practical steps to reduce it, and decreasing energy consumption where possible.
Through various initiatives, our SRCs promote the principles of reduce, reuse, recycle to better manage waste during our conferences and meetings. These include working with the conference leadership to choose sustainable and accessible destinations and encouraging attendees to engage in sustainable efforts during their SRC experience.
