Protein Phosphorylation Networks in Health and Disease

Conference Summary

This FASEB SRC focuses on protein phosphorylation - the most prevalent post-translational modification that regulates almost all aspects of development and normal physiological function of an adult organism. Decades of research has revealed the complexity of the regulatory networks involved in control of protein phosphorylation and their exceptional vulnerability as target of dysregulation in many disease states. Protein kinases, which catalyze phosphorylation, are one of the most successful targets of currently FDA-approved therapeutics, but emerging mechanisms of drug resistance mandate deeper mechanistic understanding of their function, as well as investigation of innovative alternative strategies to targeting the aberrant phosphorylation networks.

This SRC will focus on molecular mechanisms governing functions of proteins kinases and other regulators of protein phosphorylation, including activation, deactivation, structural studies, effects of inhibitors, and the molecular basis for emerging drug resistance. We will also cover most recent approached to innovative therapeutics targeting proteins kinases in human diseases. An impressive slate of world-renowned speakers combined with the intimacy of a highly focused agenda with ample opportunities for discussion and interaction, are designed to enhance collaboration and foster new ideas and research directions in the field.

Important Deadlines:

  • Early bird registration deadline June 4, 2018
  • Last day to register June 20, 2018
