Sponsorship OpportunitiesDear Cytometry Colleagues: I am pleased to announce the sponsorship opportunities for the 2008 Congress of the International Society for Analytical Cytology. It represents the results of input from a number of representatives of different communities, who share the goal of putting on an outstanding Congress next year in beautiful Budapest, Hungary. The Congress site, the Budapest Sportarena, will provide even more exhibit space than has been available for previous Congresses. The Congress Organizing Committee has paid particular attention to creating a process that will ensure equal access to sponsorship opportunities for all potential sponsors! As you may know, ISAC has undergone a remarkable rejuvenation under the leadership of Past President Maria Pallavacini and current President J.Paul Robinson. The Society has gone through a thorough strategic planning process and devoted considerable resources to a number of new initiatives. These include hiring a full-time Executive Director, engaging FASEB to provide management services, hiring an Educational Director, developing new educational programs, and initiating a number of new collaborative efforts with societies with related interests. The Society’s journal, Cytometry Part A, has seen a remarkable rise in impact factor since the separation of Part A and Part B and is under the innovative leadership of new Editor-in-Chief Attila Tarnok. The Society is continuing the increased emphasis on image-based cytometry that was evident at the 2006 Congress, reflecting ISAC’s focus on all approaches to automated cell analysis. I would like to express ISAC’s heartfelt gratitude to the generous sponsors of the 2006 Congress: Aminis Corporation, BD Biosciences, Beckman Coulter, Inc., Dako Denmark A/S, Duke Scientific Corporation, iCyt Visionary Bioscience, Invitrogen Corporation, SouthernBiotech, and Verity Software House. We look forward to their support again in 2008 and to welcoming new sponsors! Please do not hesitate to contact me or ISAC Executive Director, Laureen Rowland at ISAC Headquarters (301-634-7454, lrowland@isac-net.org) if we can answer any questions about the Sponsorship Program. I look forward to seeing you in Budapest! Robert F. Murphy, Ph.D.
