Drosophila tissue polarity requires the signal transduction mediated by frizzled(fz). inturned and fuzzy are two downstream genes of the fz signaling pathway. Almost identical mutant phenotypes of inturned and fuzzy have suggested that they might be interacting with each other to establish planar polarity. To test their physical interaction, we generated epitope-tagged constructs for both inturned and fuzzy. We will present data on the subcellular localization of these two gene products and also evidence for an interaction between them.
