American Board of Genetic Counseling
The American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC), Inc., was
incorporated in 1993. The ABGC prepares and administers
examinations to certify individuals who provide services in the
medical genetics specialty of genetic counseling and accredits
training programs in genetic counseling.

American Board of Medical Genetics
The American Board of Medical Genetics, Inc. (ABMG), incorporated in 1980 under the sponsorship of the American Society of Human Genetics, Inc., and recognized since
1991 as a member board of the American Board of Medical Specialties, prepares and administers examinations to certify individuals who provide services in medical genetics.
The ABMG also provides accreditation of medical genetics training programs.
