"The Education and Professional Development Committee of the ASBMB promotes the molecular life sciences through educational and informational activities for the Society's members, the scientific community, and the general public."


The EPD Missions include:

  • Promoting Undergraduate Biochemistry and Molecular Biology involvement through Undergraduate Affiliate Network groups
  • Creation of ASBMB approved Graduate and Undergraduate education standards and curriculum
  • Dissemination of professional, postdoctoral, graduate and undergraduate resources and training
  • Hosting Graduate and Undergraduate poster competitions
  • Involvement in promoting professional and industrial career education and development
  • Providing resources and direction for K-12 Education and public Outreach
  • Hosting the ASBMB Honor Society
