Consultant Services
The Undergraduate Affiliates Network (UAN), under the auspices of ASBMB, offers consulting and mentoring services to departments and faculty members at member institutions. The UAN maintains a list of experienced consultants who can assist institutions in many ways which can include, but are not limited to:
1) Performing a department/program/division review.
2) Offering advice for initiating or strengthening undergraduate Biochemistry
and/or Molecular Biology curricular programs including ways to optimize communication and collaboration among chemists, biologists, and biochemists.
3) Offering assistance for enhancing an undergraduate research program.
4) Providing mentoring for establishing undergraduate research projects.
5) Offering help in developing innovative and modern teaching methods for
introductory and advanced BMB classes.
6) Mentoring new faculty in establishing research programs, developing classroom activities, and in balancing the extensive and conflicting demands involved in establishing an academic career.
7) Providing assistance in grant writing to individuals and departments.
UAN Consultants are experienced individuals who are successful in their own
teaching and research careers and who share your vision and goals about under-
graduate education in biochemistry/molecular biology. They are eager to assist in the professional development of faculty and programs that will enhance the quality
