The American Society for Biochemistry & Molecular Biology is pleased to introduce the ΧΩΛ Biochemistry & Molecular Biology Honor Society for outstanding undergraduate students pursuing a degree in the molecular life sciences at a College or University that is a member of the Undergraduate Affiliation Network. Member institutions automatically qualify to create a local chapter of the ΧΩΛ Biochemistry & Molecular Biology Honor Society and local chapters may nominate eligible students for election to the National ΧΩΛ Biochemistry & Molecular Biology Honor Society.
Upon election to National Honor Roll students will receive a certificate of membership, an ASBMB Travel award to the next ASBMB Meeting, and the ΧΩΛ lapel pin.
Who may nominate students?
Faculty advisors of UAN Chapters may nominate up to 3 Junior and 3 Senior students per year for election to the National ΧΩΛ Biochemistry & Molecular Biology Honor Society.
Nomination materials should include:
- A letter of nomination.
- An unoffical transcript indicating science courses taken and GPA.
- A one page CV of the student indicating presentations made at Scientifc Meetings, publications and outreach activities the student has engaged in.
- Letters of support: No more than three letters of support may be submitted.
- A copy of an Abatract submitted for the next ASBMB Meeting.
There is a target date for nominations each year: all materials should be received by November 30th. Students elected to the National Chapter of ΧΩΛ, the Biochemistry & Molecular Biology Honor Society, will be notified by January 1st.
