FASEB Excellence in Science Award
The FASEB Excellence in Science Award is given in recognition of outstanding achievement by women in biological science. Recipients are women whose career achievements have contributed significantly to further our understanding of a particular discipline by excellence in research. The 2012 award is supported by an educational grant from Lilly USA, LLC.
2011 Award
Gail R. Martin, PhD received the 2011 Award and present the award lecture on July 24, 2011 at the Society for Developmental Biology meeting in Chicago, IL.
2012 Award
Susan R. Wessler, PhD will be the recipient of the FASEB 2012 Excellence in Science Award.
2013 Award
The nomination phase for the 2013 award is closed. The recipient of the 2013 Excellence in Science Award will be announced in June 2012 and the announcement will be posted on the FASEB website.
Selection Criteria and Eligibility
- Women whose career achievements reflect significant contributions to further our understanding of a particular discipline by excellence in research.
- Nominees are typically women who are senior in their field and nationally known for their outstanding contributions in research, leadership, and mentorship.
- Nominees and nominators must be members of at least one of FASEB's 24 member societies.
