FASEB Thanks Senators Blunt and Murray for Proposed $2 Billion Increase for NIH

FASEB sent a letter to Senate Labor, Health and Human Services (LHHS) Appropriations Subcommittee Chairman Roy Blunt (R-MO) and ranking member Patty Murray (D-WA) expressing deep appreciation for the proposed $2 billion increase for the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The funding for NIH was included in the fiscal year 2018 LHHS bill that was approved by the Senate Appropriations Committee on September 7th. The letter noted it was the third consecutive multi-billion dollar increase for NIH and praised Chairman Blunt and ranking member Murray for their ongoing commitment to ensuring that the U.S. remains a world leader in biomedical research.
