There Is No Scientific Controversy Regarding Evolution, FASEB Letter Says

August 18, 2016

FASEB asked a network of higher education institutions to refrain from equating creationism with the scientific theory of evolution in its curriculum guidance. The FASEB letter was sent to The Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE) in support of concerns raised by Michael Baltzley, PhD, in a correspondence published in Science. WICHE, a non-profit organization promoting collaboration between institutions in 16 member states, suggested that students evaluate the evidence and arguments in the highly publicized 2014 debate between Ken Ham and Bill Nye as a demonstration of scientific literacy. In an August 5 letter, FASEB urged WICHE to remove the recommendation to use this event as an example of a valid scientific debate.
