Recently Google introduced Display Benchmark Tool, an easy-to-use webpage that allows marketers to pull up-to-date industry benchmarks to help plan and measure the success of display campaigns. The data offered through the Display Benchmark Tool gives marketers the potential to transform user engagement data into relevant and successful display ad campaigns.

Display Benchmark Tool provides data such as interaction rates and expansion rates (the number of times an expanded ad was expanded) for rich media. In addition, there is data for click through rates in standard and rich media and video completion rates. Google recognized multiple trends through the benchmark tool, such as the more creative, compelling ads that lead to longer interaction. People are interacting with rich media ads about 50-60% more frequently and spending about 20% more time interacting. Also, Google found that the larger the ad the more people will interact.
