Help, Print Advertising has Fallen and it Can't Get Up

Our Publishers

AdNet has been monitoring the continued trend toward online publishing as a substitute for print publishing.  For the first time in AdNet's history, 2012 online advertising (Jan-June) made up a majority of ad buys at 52% compared to that of print advertising at 48%.  This is a 10% increase from 2011!

We expect this trend to continue; it's not new or shocking but, it does affect how you reach your audience.  Adding online advertising as a touch point allows your message to resonate and increases the chance of a response.

We have worked with all of our publishers to ensure that you have the online channels and options available to reach your target audience as consumer preferences change.  We can customize packages across channels so that you'll reach your audience at the library while browsing a journal, online when they receive the latest eToc, and on their mobile device when they're reviewing an abstract.

Campaign Tracking:  The Gift That Keeps on Giving

Google's URL Builder is a great way to define traffic sources and analyze ad campaigns in Google Analytics.  This free tool generates custom parameters for your banner ad's URL.  Once you've provided your banner and URL to the advertising agency (FASEB AdNet), you simply log into your Google Analytics account to review your results by clicking Traffic Sources, Sources, and then Campaigns - it's that easy!

But, be careful when comparing stats; sometimes it's apples to oranges.  Multiple clicks by the same person each register as a click in many tracking systems, but in Google Analytics, since its tracking visitors, those clicks may equate to one visit.  Also, Google Analytics only works if someone's browser accepts cookies.  Each tracking system has its caveats; using multiple methods of tracking a campaign betters your understanding of ROI.
