ASHG/FASEB Career Center 2011

ASHG will continue to provide a service for those seeking employment and those seeking qualified candidates. Services will be provided by The Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB).

The ASHG/FASEB Career Center will be available at http://careers.faseb.org and will operate between September 30 and October 15. Additional career services will be available onsite starting Wednesday, October 12 through Friday, October 14.

If you would like to post a résumé or an advertisement prior the 2011 Annual Meeting, please review your options below.

Career and Employment Services at the ASHG 2011 Meeting include:

A Career Center at the Exhibit Hall  

Onsite CV/Résumé Critiques and Career Counseling Sessions will be provided at the Career Center by Mr. Joe Tringali.   Career Coach will be available to: 

• Critique your resume, CV or cover letter
• Give career guidance
• Go over interviewing tips

Appointments can be made in the Career Center.

  For job seekers: It is FREE to post your resume and candidate qualifications online. You can also search employer job listings, send/receive electronic messages and request interviews with employers.  View/Download JOB SEEKER INSTRUCTIONS. 

  For employers: It is FREE to post employment opportunities on the ASHG/FASEB Career site starting on September 30, 2011. The posting will be available for a period of 14 days from posting date. Your online posting will be automatically listed on the onsite employment poster boards at the meeting. If you wish to have access to the resume bank to review/search job seekers profiles and send/receive electronic messages using the ASHG/FASEB Career site, the fee is $100 for 30 days.  View/Download EMPLOYER INSTRUCTIONS.

• Employment Poster Boards at the Exhibit Hall 

   

  For employers who have posted online, your posting will be automatically listed on the employment poster boards. Employers who do not wish to post opportunities online in advance should give a copy of their job descriptions on an 8.5”X11” paper to the ASHG/FASEB Career Center staff to post on the onsite employment boards. Self-posting on employment boards is not allowed. You can email your job description to careers@faseb.org.

ASHG Trainee Development Program and Networking Session

Thursday, October 13, 6:30 pm- 8:30 pm

This event, organized by the ASHG Professional Development Committee, is scheduled for Thursday evening, October 13, at the Montreal Convention Center. Graduate students and postdoctoral fellows will participate in workshop-oriented career development. Light refreshments will be provided.

The networking session, which will follow the workshop session and will include drinks and heavy hors d’oeuvres, is open to all trainees who would like to meet and network with representatives from industry, academe, nonprofits, education, law, science policy, forensics, counseling, etc. Bring your business cards.

The event is limited to 250 attendees and a registration fee of $10 USD is required. Tickets are non-refundable.  More information about this event can be found here.
