Editorial Services
FASEB provides a wide range of publications management and editorial services to help organizations publish their materials efficiently and cost effectively. Services cover nearly all facets of a publication's lifecycle from editor selection through peer review and production to press promotion. All of these services are provided by highly experienced staff and can be tailored to your needs as part of a comprehensive publications program or as individually contracted services.
Publications Management
- Provide publishing program oversight
- Facilitate peer-review process

- Grant and secure journal copyright permissions per publisher policy

- Report to society councils, boards, or committees on publishing program

Peer Review
- Manage all aspects of manuscript peer review
- Working with editors and authors to ensure timely reviews and decisions
- Assist authors, editors, and reviewers
- Identify and implement peer review process improvements
- Collect and track manuscript processing fees
- Train new editors on the system
Production
- Manage workflows for accepted articles
- Oversee vendors, freelancers, and in-house staff
- Serve as a main point of contact for authors, editors, vendors, and freelancers
- Handle queries related to manuscript submission, billing, production, preprints, publication, etc.
- Work with compositor on figures and tables
- Coordinate and distribute author proofs via compositor
- Handle author corrections/edits
- Review preprint files
- Upload supplemental data files
- Proofread and correct proofs from compositor
- Enforce the publication’s style guide
- Coordinate print advertising
- Review advance copies of print journals for overall quality, such as sufficient binding quality, color matching, etc. Work with vendors to correct problems if they occur.
- Publish meeting abstracts and manage supplemental issues
- Generate and publish errata/corrections when necessary
Press Releases
- Generate and distribute press releases related to journal content
- Work with author institutions to promote individual studies and findings
- Answer media queries
- Work with reporters to develop stories
