Return to Main PageFASEB MARC Program Travel Awards Announced for the Society for the Study of Reproduction 2008 Annual MeetingDr. Juan Bustamante presents his research at SSR Annual Meeting

FASEB’s MARC (Minority Access to Research Careers) Program has announced the travel award recipients for the Society for the Study of Reproduction (SSR) Annual Meeting in Kona, Hawai'i, May 25-30, 2008. These awards are meant to promote the entry of underrepresented minority students, postdoctorates and scientists into the mainstream of the basic science community and to encourage the participation of young scientists and their mentors at the SSR 2008 Annual Meeting.

Awards are given to poster/platform presenters and faculty mentors paired with the students/trainees they mentor. This year MARC conferred 9 awards totaling $22,500.

The FASEB MARC Program is funded by a grant from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences, National Institutes of Health. A primary goal of the MARC Program is to increase the number and competitiveness of underrepresented minorities engaged in biomedical and behavioral research. - Jacquie Roberts

FASEB’s MARC (Minority Access to Research Careers) Program has announced the travel award recipients for the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Annual Meeting in Indianapolis, Indiana, May 28-31, 2008. These awards are meant to promote the entry of underrepresented minority students, postdoctorates and scientists into the mainstream of the basic science community and to encourage the participation of young scientists and their mentors at the ACSM 2008 Annual Meeting.

Awards are given to poster/platform presenters and faculty mentors paired with the students/trainees they mentor. This year MARC conferred 10 awards totaling $15,500.
